The monument to Grand Duke Carl-August of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach is located on the Square of Democracy. The bronze equestrian statue was created by the famous sculptor Adolf von Donndorf. It was inaugurated in 1875 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his reign.
