Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape instructor holds a rattle snake caught during a Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape training session, in a remote location near Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Jul. 17, 2017. Trainees followed an SERE instructor from point-to-point to learn the process of gathering materials, seeking shelter, discarding unnecessary supplies, finding food and using maps and radios. The reptile while be used as a classroom specimen to instill situational awareness in future SERE students.
