With this plan in view Gen. Gillem passed hisforce to the front of the wagon train and moved on inthis order to Russellville. Hearing nothing of the rein-forcements upon arriving at that place, and knowing theenemy was in force upon his left flank Gen. Gillem or-dered Col. Patton, with 2 battalions of his regiment, tohold the position at the intersection of the road until thewagon train passed. The command then moved on toJudge Bartons place where another road intersects themain road and Gen.
