Corner Wood, Cilgerran,Ceredigion, Wales, UK. 21st June 2013. Two families trying to build straw bale homes in their bid to live a low energy, low carbon existence in woodland are taking their case to the Welsh Government after planning objections. Couples Ian Critchley & Tracy Styles, and Jeff Clarke & Melanie Robinson, with their children, argue their plans meet the criteria of the Welsh Government’s One Planet Development (OPD) policy which allows for development in the open countryside as long as applicants can prove they can meet at least 65% of their food needs from the land.
