These moneyed facilities enable the packer, miller and spec-ulator to hold on to their produce, with the opening of naviga-tion in the spring; and they are no longer obliged as formerlyto hurry off their shipments during the winter by the way ofNew Orleans, in order to realize funds by drafts on their ship-ments. The banking facilities at the East are doing as muchto draw trade from us as the canals and railways which easterncapital is constructing.
