This common species is known from all parts of the African continent south of the desert belt, also from the Seychelles and Ceriagrion glabrum, £. Lorenzo Marques. Appendages, right side and dorsal view. $ . Occiput whitish ochreous ; labium light yellow. Labrum, auteclypeus, postclypeus and vertical part of frons bright ochreous yellow ; genae lemon-yellow. Vertex and dorsal surface of frons ferruginous, gradually turning to yellowish anteriorly. Thoracic dorsum ferruginous, sides yellow, turning gradually to whitish on ventral surface ; a mere trace of blackish dots in the dorsal end of humeral and second lateral sutures. Legs yellow with black spines. Abdomen bright orange red, turning to yellowish ventrally. Tenth segment and appendages (see Text-fig. 31). Wings conspicuously yellow ; pterostigma very light yellowish grey.
