Bosham Channel on a late winters afternoon at high tide, Bosham, West Sussex, England, UK.

Bosham on the south coast is a pretty village and popular with the sailing fraternity due to it's proximity within Chichester harbour. Bosham is thought to be the birth and burial place of the last Saxon king of England (King Harold). The church is featured in the Bayeaux Tapestry. Bosham is taken from the old English Bosanhamm (Bosa's home or homestead). This image was taken on a late winters afternoon from a footpath looking south over the inlet / channel of Bosham. When the tide is high the road to the opposite side is totally submerged and unusable. The only immediate means of getting to the other side is via a high purpose built footpath.
