GREAT LAKES, Ill. (March 17, 2017) Command Master Chief Shawn Isbell, Recruit Training Command, met with Dan Robinson, a Gold Star father, prior to the start of Pass-in-Review March 17, at RTC. Robinson, the father of Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Heath Robinson, who died Aug. 6, 2011, in Afghanistan, attended the ceremony because his son was the inspiration for a family friend to join the Navy and Robinson assisted him through the enlistment process. The term "Gold Star" describes a family member who has lost a loved one in military service.
