Holmes Chapel railway viaduct aerial photos during Network Rail major civil engineering works 14th February 2016


Aerial view of Holmes Chapel viaduct on the West Coast Main line between Manchesster and London. Photos taken using commercial drone showing works commenced by Network Rail to replace track bed across the viaduct during which the viaduct has been closed to rail traffic from 14th February 2016. Occasional trees and grass farmland below within the valley. Sunny day with occasional cumulous clouds taken at approx noon. On the viaduct workers with excavators and other machinery are removing the existing track bed on the Northern bound line. Image is taken on the East side of the viaduct with the shadows from the brick viaduct on the grass land beyond.
