Alien planetary system. Computer artwork of a view across an alien moon towards the star 51 Pegasi (centre) and its planets. 51 Pegasi is a Sun-like star located 51 light years from Earth, in the constellation Pegasus. It was the first Sun-like star found to have a planet orbiting it. The planet's shown here have a mass similar to Jupiter but orbit much closer to their sun, meaning they have a much hotter surface temperature and giving them the name Hot Jupiters.
