Photographing forensic evidence. Forensic photographer using a camera and fixed lighting to photograph the evidence collected at a crime scene. A ruler is provided for scale, along with markers showing the location of the bullet wound. A detailed record of the investigation process is needed to provide what is called the chain of custody. This documents what happens to a piece of evidence, from its discovery at the crime scene to its use in a court of law.
