Bellamy Bros, are rushing their new greenhouses to completion. The firm now has a site in the southwest- ern part of the city covering a whole city block, giving them a frontage on four streets. The offices have been completed and, with the show room, are most attractive. In addition to this property they have two green- houses on a nearby street. The new houses are of iron framework, and one will be filled with carnation seed- lings and pot plants. This house is 18x140 feet, one adjoining it is of the same dimensions, a third will be 22%x 154 feet and a fourth 10x125 feet, the latter to be a propagating house. Two boilers are being installed, although but one will be used this winter. The Kroeschell hot water heating system will be used entirely. There will be two 40 h. p. boilers with Kroeschell generators. The firm's new seedling. Marchioness, pure white, is doing well, having withstood the summer drouth better than any other plant. It grew better during the dry spell than any other variety. Second crops in the horticultural and fruit line have been reported and arc attributed to the lateness of the summer weather and there have been of lilacs and strawberries in full bloom within a few weeks.
