Darmera peltata, Indian Rhubarb in bud. Also known as umbrella plant it is native to the edges of mountain streams in the western USA. The plant is suitable for bog gardens and pond edges and has been given the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. The pink or white flowers emerge before the leaves in late spring.
