Pontoon bridge of Torre d'Oglio.(1990)

Tourist attraction of the locality is the historic "bridge in barges", located inside the Parco dell'Oglio Sud. Much more than a road infrastructure, well beyond the undeniable historical past, the pontoon bridge of Torre d'Oglio represents the symbol of the identity of a territory as complex as it is fascinating. Built in 1926, the bridge connects San Matteo delle Chiaviche (fraction of the municipality of Viadana) and Cesole (fraction of Marcaria), respectively the south and north banks of the Oglio river. The bridge was in the past supervised and cared for by bridges, currently they take care of the maintenance of the provincial body. The barge bridge of Torre d'Oglio is a cultural asset of all, the dark, mysterious but fascinating soul of a territory that has seduced many artists, including the director Bernardo Bertolucci, who turned his twentieth century here. He also served as a backdrop to film scenes, such as Luciano Ligabue's Radiofreccia, I promessi sposi and Don Camillo with Terence Hill who crosses it with an enduro motorbike. Read more :
