Church built about 1669 under the will of Joihn Barwick, Dean of 's cathedral, London and his brother, physician to King Charles II, who were both natives of Witherslack. The panel above the South door is the Arms of Dean Barwick and includes the red rose given to him IN 1661 by King Charles II in recognition of his help in the restoration of the monarchy.
