5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 12, 2018) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Ross Fergerson stands watch as the damage control central watch supervisor aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima is homeported in Mayport, Fla., and is on deployment to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
