If the fire surface is properly adjusted to the grate area, we would consider the boiler capable of handling 800 square feet of hot water radiation and this should heat 2,800 square feet of glass to 55 degrees. This would represent a house 20x100 feet, or two houses 20x50 feet, with two feet of glass in each wall. As nearly as we can tell from the sketch, the boiler lias ports for one flow pipe and for three 1-inch returns. For a house of the width mentioned we would use two (di flow pipes if the length of the liouse is fifty feet, or three such flows if the length is 100 feet, and the return mains should be of the same size and number. In addi- tion to the flow pipe, we would use nine 2-inch returns witli the three flows and ten returns when there are only two flow pipes.
