It was first built in1640, was partially destroyed by the Indians in their revolt in1680, and built up again in 1710. The interior of the churchis still in tolerable repair, and service is held in it. The altitude of Santa Fe is a little over seven thousandfeet. Its winters are sunny and mild ; a little snow fallsoccasionally, but it never lies long, and the air is exception-ally dry. Helen Hunt San Miguel. New Mexico.
