Editorial use only. This image may not be used to state or imply endorsement by CERN of any product, activity or service Frank Wilczek lecture at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory. The lecture is about a Higgs-doublet model, referring to a variant of the Higgs boson. US theoretical physicist Frank Wilczek (born 1951) studied mathematics at the University of Chicago and Princeton University before gaining a PhD in physics in 1974, also from Princeton. In 1973, while still a graduate student working with David Gross, Wilczek discovered asymptotic freedom in quarks. In 2004 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for this discovery, along with David Gross and H. David Politzer. Photographed in the main auditorium at CERN on 31 May 2007.
