(£800), so that the stake will altogether be worth about £1060, The work of art in question is a reduction in silver of the celebrated statue of William I. of Nassau, Prince of Orange, surnamed the Taciturn, the first Stadtholder. Its execution has been confided to the firm of Hunt and Roskell, of Bondstreet, London. The original statue is by the Count de Nieuwerkerke, the Director of the Pine Arts in France, and ornaments the Place Royale at the Hague'. From "Illustrated London News", 1861.
