Always from youth he has been an industriousworker, with little leisure for participation in public affairs or inpolitics; indeed, his only part in such activities is the voting of theRepublican ticket at general elections. In Sacramento, April 14,1903, he was united in marriage with Miss Annie Frentrup, a nativeof Germany. Such a man is Daniel W. Carmiehael, president of the Chamberof Commerce, realty operator and Democratic leader. Mr. Carmiehael was born in Atlanta, Ga., in the year 1867, theson of William and Evelyn (Fincher) Carmiehael. His father was asouthern planter and a well-known and respected man of his com-munity.
