Libyan Air Force Dassault Mirage F1E bearing the post-revolutionary national insignia

This aircraft was one of two which were flown to Malta on 21 February 2011 by pilots who chose to defect rather than to obey orders to attack unarmed demonstrators. It is shown a year later, bearing Libya's post-revolutionary emblem and undergoing taxi trials in preparation for its return to Libya. The two aircraft returned to Libya on 22 February 2012.
