August Krogh (1874-1949), Danish physiologist and Nobel laureate, standing next to gas analysis apparatus. His full name is Schack August Steenberg Krogh. He was awarded the 1920 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine. The Nobel was awarded for Krogh's discovery of the capillary motor regulating mechanism. Photographed in 1922.
