CHAPTER XI The East African Railroad LANDING at Mombasa the Roosevelt party boarded a train onj the Uganda Railway to begin the long trip of more than fivehundred miles from the east coast of Africa to the great Lakeof Victoria Nyanza. This long journey may be divided into three principal stages: TheJungles, the Plains and the Mountains.
