Surf Lifesaving carnival Tugun Beach Queensland surf clubs attend a surf carnival held on the Gold Coast and at Tugun beach


Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia September 15, 2012: Tugun Beach south of Surfers Paradise, Surf Life Saving Australia, a voluntary organisation that provides life savers to patrol beaches hold a carnival for trials for qualified life savers for the upcoming Ironman series. These trials held on the public beach of Tugun run over two days and require contestants to trial in beach running, swimming, surf ski and surf board. Sponsors for Surf Life saving Australia set up tents and flags in support of the event and to attract the attention of a number of spectators and family/friends of the contestants. Seen here are groups of spectators mixing with the athletes as they prepare their equipment amongst the sponsors flags and shade tents.
