Opacity in the anterior partof the capsule is usually indi-cated by a whitish spot in theceuter of the pupil, with adark blue circle around it;and when the opacity is inthe posterior portion, it ap-pears concave, striated, andyellowish, and at a distancebehind the iris, fig. 277. Inthe majority of cases, how-ever, the affection is of a mix-ed character.
