Junes. ever frame, with these bevel connections is a Simplicity hive. This hive can be used to secure either comb or extracted honey. The bottom-board, d, and the alighting-board, e, may be separate from each other and from the hive ; the opening may be made by cutting a V-shaped space in the bottom-board, while the cover, a, may or may not be hinged to the upper story, 'hit. Root, in the original Simplicity, used the cover as a bottom-board, and formed an entrance by pushing the hive a little to one side. Many prefer to have the cover with a gable (Fig. 88), so made as to join the hive with a rabbet (Fig. 86 and 88), or to shut over the hive and rest on shoulders formed by.
