ANEURYSM OF AN ARTERY, DRAWING

Aneurysm is a dilatation that forms itself on the artery. This dilatation is usually caused by a plaque of atheroma. It can take the shape of a small sac in the intracranial aneurysms. We then talk about sacculate aneurysm (shown on the drawing). The major risk is that this sac bust (aneurysm rupture) provoking then a very severe cerebral hemorrhage. In prevention a surgical interventionturn out to be necessary.
