Wonderful original and clear Edwardian era early 1900's postcard of a proud fire crew wearing Merryweather brass helmets on a horse-drawn fire engine, a community brigade (community is written on the helmets) possibly Uckfield, East Sussex, circa 1905
Uckfield news had the exact same wagon shown in a history of firefighting Uckfield and the sign above the station building reads (Uckfield? Community Brigade) Master and Commission. This design of fire engine seems to be fairly common in the UK at the time. More research needed on location. Photo dated to Edwardian times circa 1905 from the shirt collars.
