The 19th century New Buildings of Dulwich College in South London.

The origins of Dulwich College lie in the College of God's Gift founded by the Elizabethan actor Edward Alleyn in the early 17th century. The New Buildings were designed in 1866-70 by the younger Charles Barry following the reformation of the old foundation in 1857. They are in a brick Italianate style and, on their first appearance, the Building News in 1869 said 'Chinese pagodas are temperate in comparison'.
