Thedate of his death is uncertain, but is probably1693 or 1(594. He married first Alice Poor,who came from ICngland in 1638. She diedDecember i, 1680, aged si.\ty-two. She wasthe mother of all his children, five in number,llis second wife, ICleanor, widow of ThomasBarnard, of Amesbury, Mass., survived him,dying November 27, 1694. Joseph, the second child and eldest son ofGeorge and Alice (Poor) Little, is next inline of descent. He was born in Newbury,Sejitember 22, 1653, and was a permanentresident of the part of the town now calledNewburyport from 1700 to the time of hisdeath. A very prominent and active citizen,he held most of the ofifices within the gift ofthe town. He attained the advanced age ofeighty-seven. On October 31, 1677, he wasmarried to Mary, daughter of
