Amongst the Bantus, on the other hand,one or two dancers perform in the middle of a ringof spectators. The round dances of the Pygmiesrecalled those of certain South African tribes. As a special mark of their confidence towards myhost, the Pygmies occasionally spent the night atthe factory. This was the case one evening whenw^e sat w4th them by lamplight round a long table inthe comfortable verandah.
