In this photograph, taken by photographer R. Dunn on November 23, 1918, we see the head of General Booth's column, the 8th Brigade (Co. F, 59th Infantry) passing under an arch of welcome as they move through the city of Thionville, Lorraine, towards the line of Occupation. This event took place on the third day of their march. The description and notes accompanying the photograph are numbered 37674.
