Int youth, he hadbeen serving as an officer under Greene, in the campaign of1781, and had borne himself honorably at Eutaw, Camden,and other places. After the war of the Revolution, JudgeJohnston married Miss Polly Wood, a niece of Patrick Henry,and one of the most accomplished ladies of her day.
