Not very far fromthe water is the formerhome of Doctor Hackett, and following west the road upon which it lies, towardsBrooklawn, the country seat of Governor Clafflin, the traveller first comes to the portalof the cemetery in which the scholar now reposes. Doctor Smith has chosen a finalresting-place here among the urns of this and other friends. None could wish forthem, or for himself, a fairer spot. Doctor Smiths fame is abroad as well as at home. His hymns are in some ofthe church collections of the mother country.
