While ad-mitting that the demandsfor more money were just,the idea seemed to be todrift along until after therailroads had been turnedover to the owners. When it is known that therailroad employes up to 1917never had received anything near a proper wagescale, and that the additions then received wereinadequate, it cannot be wondered why demands.
