Memory metal ring. Shape memory metal ring (upper right) on the finger of a man (upper left) and a woman. Memory metals are alloys made of aluminium or copper along with nickel and titanium. Once manufactured in a certain shape the metal may be deformed with little effort, but its plastic-like nature means that it regains its shape once relea- sed. In trying to return to its original unstret- ched form the ring fits snugly onto any finger.
