In that yearthey removed to Oakland and in 1901 to theirpresent home on Tenth avenue. Mr. Harvey fol-lowed engineering for a time in the various ma-chine shops of San Francisco tmtil his retire-ment, which occurred upon his removal to Oak-land. September 10. 1846, Mr. Harvey was united inmarriage with Miss Keziah H. Thompson; shewas born in Nottingham, N. H., May 20, 1827, adescendant of Scotch ancestry on the paternalside and of New England on her mothers. Lon- I. Mr. andMrs. Harvey became the parents of six children,bringing them all to California in 1866: J. War-ren, an engineer in the employ of the nav} } ardin Portsmouth, N. H.; Benjamin F., engineer onthe Water Nymph, on San Francisco bay;George H., a resident of Oakland, and captain ofthe Arab, in the employ of the Pacific MailSteamship Company; Laura E., wife of WilliamLeach, of Oakland; Lewis Perry, captain and?owner of the Water Nymph, now living retiredin Oakland; and Flora M., who is living with hermother.
