This superb tender night-blooming Water Lily surpasses all other red varieties by the brilliancy and depth of the rich, glowing dark crimson of its flowers, which are identical in form to A'. Devoniensis, 9 to 10 inches in diameter; stamens reddish-bronze, crimson at the base; foliage 15 inches across, dentated, of a glossy dark bronzy-red, resembling in color the foliage of Black Beauty Canna. § each.
