RAGBRAI®, The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state.

RAGBRAI® is is said to be the longest, largest and oldest touring bicycle ride in the world. It is always held the last full week of July. The total mileage for RAGBRAI averages 472 miles. Official riders register well ahead of time but large numbers of people unofficially ride along for a day or two. Support busses carry personal items and camping gear to the evening destination. Safety is encouraged, the so called "brain buckets" (helmets) and other safety gear in use throughout. Neatness and courtesy are also encouraged and generally found. Many make it an annual family event. Each year a different route passes through many hospitable small towns, in this case Waucoma Iowa, for which this may be the biggest event in a long time! Riders are seen sitting on the bridge railing relaxing during a break.
