Horton, UK. 5th February, 2024. A war memorial in Horton Village, Berkshire. Home Secretary James Cleverly is to make it a criminal offence for protesters who climb onto war memorials. Those who are successfully convicted could spend up to three months in prison and be fined £1,000. The legislation is to be introduced as an amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill. The new proposals are in response to pro-Palestinian demonstrators climbing onto war memorials in London. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy Live News
