X-45A Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle test flight. This was the sixth flight of X-45A, the first Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) technology demonstrator. During this test flight, it raised its landing gear for the first time, it flew for 40 minutes, and reached an airspeed of 360 kilometres per hour and an altitude of 2285 metres. The logos represent the US Air Force, Boeing's Phantom Works division, NASA (Dryden Flight Research Center), and the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The X-45 UCAV is part of the Joint Unmanned Combat Air Systems (J-UCAS) programme. Photographed on 19 December 2002.
