My friends cannot understand how 1 can raise such beautiful Roses. The hist winter was severe on Rose plants, but I am glad to say tliat I lost only one plant of those which I purchased from you. which shows that the plants you send out are liard\' and \'igorous. W'lien in need of any other plants I shall be pleased to place my order with you.—H. H. F., St. Louis, Mo. •CHATEAU DE CLOS VOUGEOT. Velvety ma- roon, shadi'd with ficr\- red. It is as dark as the famous "l)lack" Rose, Prinee Camille de Rohan, hut blooms more freely. The plants are rather low and spreading in habit of Laurent Carle. Splendid, firm, lasting flowers • GEORGE C. WAUD. The flowers are large and full, of perfect form and very sweet scented. The color is a glowing red suffused with orange- red. A splendid Rose for amateurs. Awarded Gold Medal, National Rose Society. *GRUSS AN TEPLITZ. Dark rich crimson, passing to velvety fiery red. An exceptionally free bloomer and one of the brightest colored red Roses grown. The canes are strong and vigorous, producing blooms constantly from June till frost. A very suitable variety to use as a dividing-line between two properties where a regular hedge-plant is not desired. An almost continuous bloomer. • CRIMSON QUEEN. An excellent Rose for cut- ting. The l(jng, pointed buds open into hand- some, well-formed flowers of velvety crimson color. Vigorous in growth and an excellent variety for the garden. ^,^^^, ^ ,^^,^ I have never planted more splend
