A Persian shamshir, 19th century. A heavy, Wootz Damascus blade with several fullers on both sides and a chiselled and gold-inlaid ricasso, iron quillons with remnants of gold inlay, somewhat damaged horn grip scales, and an iron pommel cap. Wooden scabbard covered with leather sewn with brass wire. Iron suspension bands. Length 94 cm.
