For the jiurposeof permit-ting slavery there, the Missouri compromise (whicilimited slavery to the south of 36° 30) was re-repealed, under the leadership of Stephen A, was repealed by a bill admitting Kansas andNebraska into the Union, as Territories, and those whowere opposed to this repeal measure were in shortcalled anti-Nebraska men.
