Tangaroan volcanic eruption. Computer artwork of an underwater volcano producing tangaroan activity. This form of submarine eruption is neither explosive nor effusive, like typical volcanic activity. Instead, it slowly releases blobs of buoyant volcanic pumice foam that rise through the water column (centre) to the surface and float (upper centre) until the chunks get waterlogged and sink (right), or wash ashore.
