Leptus autumnalis, or harvest-mite (larva of trombidae), is a red-colored parasite de-posited upon the skin from grass, bushes, and certain cereals; it in-duces inflammation by its bite and by boring into the denti- culatum is the juvenile form of the Pentastoma tasnioides. The mature female is 50 mm. to 125 mm. in length and 6 mm. to 10 mm. broad; the male is much smaller—15 mm. to 25 mm. long and 2 mm. to 5 mm. in breadth.
