Squamosum; Tympanohyale. sächlich eine Rinne in der Schädelbasis, eine schwächere auch ihr gegenüber im Entotympanicum. Auch beim Schädel von Nothrotherium escrivanetise Reinh. schließlich, demselben, welchen Reinhardt (1878) als Typus dieser Art beschrieben hat, ist an beiden Seiten das Entotympanicum vor- handen (Fig. 41). Es ist denn auch auf Reinhardts Abbildungen deutlich sichtbar, obwohl es im Texte nicht genannt wird. Durch teilweise Lehmbedeckung sind die Grenzen nicht überall deutlich und kann ich nur angeben, daß es lamellenförmig ist, die gewöhn- liche Lage hat, das aufgeschwollene Pterygoid erreicht und keinen Sulcus caroticus besitzt.
