Thisis done by applying one of the well-known solutions (for instance, a saturatedsolution of chloride of mercury 10 parts,water 100 to 120 parts) by means of asoft brush to the portions to be inten-sified, carefully removing the solutionafter some time by means of blotting-paper, and repeating the operation untilthe portions have become white. In thesame manner the ammonia solution (i : 10water) is applied, until the portions inquestion have blackened.
