Original Victorian CDV Carte de Visite ( visiting card or CDV) of pleasant looking bearded Welsh Victorian man gentleman wearing a light-coloured bowler hat with a high crown, a "sack suit", fastened at the top, tie, hanky pocket (new in the 1880's) From the studio of A & G Taylor, Duke St, Cardiff, Wales circa mid 1880's.
Dated from the gentleman's suit style known as a Sack Suit. The sack suit came into use as common daywear during the mid 1880's and continued with little change well into the first part of the twentieth century. It was used for business and leisure wear, sharing the former with the once mainstays of business wear, the frock and morning coat.
